Admissions

Unity is nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, and all other operations; and does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability

Admission to Oakland Unity High School is open to all students. We strive for a student population that reflects the diverse community of Oakland.

Applications are accepted year-round.

On March 30, if the number of applicants is more than the available spots for the upcoming school year, a lottery is held. Those not admitted through the lottery are placed on a waiting list according to the order the names are drawn.

The cut-off deadline for the lottery is March 30, and the lottery is held on April 15th.

Applications submitted between March 30 and the start of the school year are placed on the waiting list on a first-come first-served basis, but after those names placed on the waiting list from the lottery.

Preference for admission is given to students with currently enrolled family members at Unity High School.

The past three years have required a lottery due to the high number of applicants and the high retention rate of enrolled students.

To apply for the 2010-11 school year, please contact Oakland Unity High School for more information.
