The youngest of two, Liliana’s received her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Latin American studies from UC Davis and then her M.S. in Counseling from California State University Sacramento. Much of her professional experience lies working with migrant families and with students who will be the first in their family to go on to college.
After working at elementary and high schools within Yolo County, Liliana decided to relocate to the Bay Area where she has most recently worked as a counselor at Cesar Chavez Middle School in Union City and as a volunteer academic coach at Oakland’s Charter High School, Civicorps. It was through these experiences that she realized how much she enjoyed working with youth in the Bay Area, particularly those in Oakland.
Liliana’s personal interests include music, photography, trying different foods and traveling. This will be her second year at Oakland Unity High School serving as the College Counselor, Testing Coordinator and Students in Action Advisor.
