I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and developed an early interest in history and politics which I pursued through UC Berkeley and then into a career as a social studies teacher in the Oakland Unified and Pleasanton Unified school districts before coming to teach at Unity in the 2009-10 school year. Passionate about students reaching their academic potential and closing the achievement gap, I became an administrator at Unity in 2010, and then stepped into the role of Principal in 2012. I’m honored to serve this community and be a part of the important work that goes on at Unity every day.
In my personal life, apart from spending time with my wife and two children, I love the outdoors, time with friends, working on my house and garden, music, movies, and Bay Area sports!
