David Castillo
Principal

Mr. Castillo returned to pursue his dream of becoming an educator after several years of working in the corporate world. Those years provided him with valuable insight and skills, which he brings to Oakland Unity High School. He received an undergraduate degree in Political Science/Chicano Studies from the University of California at San Diego. He is also a graduate of the Teaching Credential Program at San Francisco State University. In 2010, he received his Administrative Services Credential and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from CSU East Bay.
Mr. Castillo is very excited about working at Unity and is a firm believer in a high quality public education for all. He has worked in both large and small school settings, and has seen the benefits that small, community schools can offer to students.
For the 2010-2011 school year, he is proud to serve as School Principal for Unity High School. He looks forward to working with Unity's amazing staff, students, and families.
