John Baker
Physics / Calculus Teacher / Advisor to the Class of 2013

I was raised in France for 17 years and came back to the United States in 1992. I started to seriously study mathematics and physics at the age of eleven years old in a little town on the outskirts of Paris named Limeil Brevannes. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power and computer architecture from San Francisco State University in May of 2003.
I worked for the telecommunication industries as a design engineer for three years. I designed telecommunication networks using AutoCAD software for various firms such as Nextel, Yahoo, Sprint, and AT&T. Later, I started to pursue my teaching credential in physics at a private University since I had a great desire to teach and help students become successful in college. I received my clear credential in the field of physics, which is my passion. I envisage completing my Master's Degree in applied mathematics at University of Washington via distance learning in order to prepare and develop my thesis for a doctorate program in applied mathematics.
During my spare time, I spend my time with my wife and dog. We do a lot of hiking and exploration of the California Coast.
