Jacqueline Paz-Cedillos

Jacqueline was raised in Oakland, California by a single mother who emigrated from El Salvador to the United States. As a high school student, Jacqueline participated in community-based organization like Summer Search, Upward Bound, and Puente which helped her develop into a confident and socially conscious young woman with a passion for social justice. In 2007, Jacqueline received her BA in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Mount Holyoke College.

Following her studies, Jacqueline worked in Nicaragua for Bridges to Community, an NGO committed to educating North American high school and college students about the systemic causes of poverty. Through this experience, Jacqueline discovered a great passion and fever for working with youth. After working for Bridges to Community, Jacqueline continued working as an educator and mentor for Girls Inc. of Alameda County and most recently Summer Search.

Jacqueline is excited to bring her energy and unique experience to Oakland Unity High School as a Spanish Teacher. She looks forward to working with the students at Oakland Unity and is honored to be a part of this team!
