Rowan Driscoll
Biology / Chemistry Teacher / Advisor to the Class of 2012

Rowan grew up on a small family farm in rural Vermont, where he fostered his love for science. After teaching in upstate NY at Trinity-Pawling for three years, he returned to school to earn his masters, enrolling in the Brown MAT program to receive his credential. After hearing about Unity through another MAT graduate and former Unity English teacher, Ms. Hsu, he decided to move West. Currently in his sixth year, Rowan teaches Chemistry, Biology and So. Advisory. Rowan spent his second summer working for the Joint BioEnergy Institute researching biofuels synthesis and cellulolytic bacteria with high school students from around the bay area. Rowan will once again coach the boy's basketball team as they look to follow their championship season of '08-09. He will also continue as an adviser to the TechBridge Program, which is in it's fourth year at Unity. Rowan loves being outside and when he is not working he is probably hiking, snowboarding, biking or just sitting down to rest.
