Salvador Contreras
Health Teacher / Advisor to the Class of 2012

Salvador Contreras is a former student of the Upward Bound Program (CSU Long Beach and UC Berkeley). He received a BA in Native American History and Law with a minor in Cultural Anthropology from UC Berkeley in 2000. Salvador worked at the Berkeley Language Center archiving near-extinct languages while earning his degree.
UC Merced opened its doors as a new research university in 2005 and Salvador worked as a Spanish instructor while earning his Masters in the World Cultures and History Program. His emphasis was Social/Cultural Anthropology.
In 2008, Salvador joined the staff at Unity High School as the After School Program Coordinator. He currently teaches Health.
