Amol Ray

Amol was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and earned his undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Missouri in 2005. After graduation, he lived and taught in Chicago and Salvador, Brazil. In 2006, He settled in Oakland, California and began volunteering as an after-school tutor at 826 Valencia in San Francisco. He recently graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College. During the two year program at Mills, Amol worked with Take My Word For It!, an after-school writing program for Oakland public schools. He is excited to start work as an after-school tutor for Oakland Unity High School.
