I was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts and grew up in Ithaca, New York, in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Ithaca is Gorges! After graduating from Harvard, I worked at many different jobs, including washing dishes, cooking on the line, and even a stint in commercial real estate, before wandering into a classroom to teach high school English. It was the best decision of my life! In 2009, I began working at Oakland Unity as an English teacher and Advisor to the amazing Class of 2014, and I’ve never looked back. It is a great privilege to serve the students and families of Oakland, and I feel the greatest pride every time I see one of our students walk across the stage to pick up their diploma. It’s great work, and it’s never done. In my leisure time, I stay busy as an amateur boxer at King’s Boxing Gym and singing in the small but mighty tenor section of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Let’s go Unity Tigers!!!
